Tuition
at Rutgers-Camden is $1,731 per course for New Jersey residents,
$2,658 per course for out-of-state students. Full-time study is
considered three classes per semester but many MFA students take
less. See this website to calculate your total costs: http://www.camden.rutgers.edu/RUCAM/graduate.php.
Some partial tuition scholarships are available to outstanding
applicants. A limited number of graduate teaching fellowships will
be awarded to MFA students. The candidate must be admitted to the
Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program at the Graduate
School of Rutgers University in Camden.
To apply for a Teaching Assistantship, notify via email the MFA Director at
the time of admission to the program. Interviews take place in the
spring term for appointments beginning the following fall.
Compensation and duties attached to the appointment are governed
by a contract negotiated between the Rutgers University and the
American Association of University Professors. They usually include
the teaching of two sections of undergraduate composition per term
in return for a salary of approximately $21,000 per year, plus tuition
remission and full medical benefits. Teaching Assistants normally
carry a two-course load of study per semester.
